Sun Tips for Your Baby

It's wonderful that summer has finally kicked in and at last we can all enjoy the lovely warm weather.  As a great source of Vitamin D we all need to get out there and soak it all up while it lasts. Most parents are pretty clued up when it comes to looking after their babies in the sun.  Getting the right suncreams, using hats and shades over pushchairs are some of the obvious precautions that parents tend to get right.

Baby Sunburn
There are though one or two issues that I've come across lately that is worth a mention.  I've seen babies with sunburn due to exposed feet and legs poking out of pushchairs. Also another cause of baby sunburn that I've witnessed is from the sun streaking through car windows, where there is no sunshade and the baby is asleep.  Always try to remember to use a sunshade on the car window when the sun is at it's hottest. It's best to use a thin cotton sheet to cover the babies feet and legs in cars and in pushchairs to avoid nasty burns.
